Special day  -  Special stationary

A wedding is a great occasion but as we know can be quite costly. You may have a picture in your mind of the sort of celebration you would like such as the theme, colour scheme and type of venue, but sometimes circumstances take over and budget dictates what you can have and where you can celebrate.

There is of course the option of doing some of the planning yourself and making your invitations and table name cards or getting a crafty family member or friend to do them for you. Be aware that you will need plenty of time to make your invitations and cards. You don’t want to be stressed before the big day!

Save the date
These are usually sent out around four months before the wedding detailing the date and venue so guests can mark their calendars and make plans to stay at or near the venue if necessary.
There are numerous examples of save the date cards on the internet and looking through can be confusing if you haven’t yet chosen your theme. I would suggest thinking about the type of look you want to create before you browse ideas. It’s really easy to design your own cards if you have a computer and printer or you can use card and stencils for a more personal touch. Most stationers and craft shops sell card with matching envelopes.

Wedding Invitations
Again, there are many designs on the internet but the design you created for your save the date cards can be tweaked for the wedding invitations, keeping the same vibe. Maybe add an extra decoration or an extra line in the border to make the invitation a little more special than the save the date card.

You can also include in the envelope a reply card, a list of local hotels and perhaps a wedding gift list all in the same style as your invitation.

Table place cards
If you are having a sit down meal it is likely you will want a table name card for each guest.
Once you have printed , stenciled or written the guest name on the card, you can decorate them in your wedding theme style.

Thank you cards
After all the celebrating and perhaps a romantic honeymoon, its time to send the thank you cards. Some couples like to have one of the wedding pictures on the front of their thank you’s or you can continue your theme.
